Pixie dust is that sparkly stuff that fairies and pixies like to sprinkle on people and things. It looks much like the glitter we use in crafting, but pixie dust, unlike glitter, has special powers! The special powers of pixie dust depend on the intent of the pixie or fairy that is using it. And it is a whole other story on what pixie dust might do in the wrong hands. Pixie dust can be both a gift and a curse. It is used for both good things and bad. So, just remember this, never make a pixie or fairy mad or you may personally find out the bad things about pixie dust are in fact true!
Pixie dust can make you fly, that's one of the uses that Tinkerbell has for it. She just sprinkles some on you and you think happy thoughts and then you are up, up and away! Pixie dust is also great for finding lost objects. Ask a fairy for some help and they will send their pixie dust off to cover your missing item with glitter! You will not have to worry about missing keys or lost socks anymore. Pixie dust helps the flowers grow, it helps the fruits and vegetables be rich and ripe and shiny. If you ever see a dull strawberry you know you need to get some fairies working in your garden! They also use pixie dust to help them with building things, like a magical powder.
Some of the negative things pixie dust can be used for includes itching powder. Yes, I said itching powder. When you upset a pixie or fairy they may just dowse you with some pixie dust that will make you itch and turn red. You will itch and itch until you are finally able to wash off all of the dust they set upon you. Only once every tiny dust particle is gone will the itching stop. Pixie dust can also be used to put you into a sneezing fit. All the fairy folk have to do is blow some at your nose and you will sneeze for hours! Carry around a shiny object with you to buy any fairies off that you are worried about disturbing!
Pixie dust powers should not be taken lightly and you should make sure not to upset your fairy friends. Now you know of the things they can do to you with their sparkly pixie dust. Would you much rather watch the flowers grow beautifully, find a lost pen or book, and take a flight among the birds and clouds? Or would you rather itch and sneeze and wish you had heeded my advice? And do not be tempted to try to use pixie dust on your own, for it takes the special magic of the pixies and fairies to make it work right. All you will do is make yourself itch until a pixie or fairy comes and takes the itch away! So hands off without the aid of one of the little folk, or disaster is sure to strike.
